Gobelet is a Cabernet Franc sourced from the northern parcel of Monte Alabanza. Like La Craie, it stretches from west to east across the vineyard, growing on extremely limestone-rich soils where the bedrock lies just beneath the surface.
The grapes were destemmed into neutral French oak barrels. Fermentation occurred spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and extraction was carried out through a very gentle daily punch-down. The wine remained in contact with its skins for 40 days before being aged for just over 12 months in neutral French oak barrels. It was bottled without filtration.
The 2023 vintage expresses a Gobelet of remarkable precision and elegance. The nose is defined by fresh herbs, floral notes, and a profound mineral character, where the identity of the site clearly prevails over the varietal expression. It is a restrained, refined Cabernet Franc of exceptional purity.
On the palate, it is long, vertical, and deeply limestone-driven, with very fine-grained tannins, vibrant tension, and a persistent finish that faithfully reflects the character of Monte Alabanza.
Total production of the 2023 vintage:
312 bottles (750 ml).
